Trustmark Park to Move to Downtown Jackson!

Wonderful news! After realizing their mistake in building a stadium in Pearl, officials at Trustmark Park have come to a preliminary agreement with the City of Jackson to move Trustmark Park to Downtown Jackson. Mayor Frank Melton is set to throw the opening pitch. The new AA ballpark will be located on the corner of W. Capitol Street and Farish Street, just steps away from the new King Edward Hotel project.

King Edward Groundbreaking

I attended the King Edward groundbreaking today, along with Haley Barbour, Leland Speed, Phil Bryant, Frank Melton, Billy McCoy, Ben Allen, David Watkins, Pres Kabacoff, and a slew of other city leaders and young professionals. Othor Cain and his short-sighted cronies would have all had heart attacks had they been in attendance. It must be very disheartening for the anti-development crowd to see such a powerful and diverse group of leaders come together in support of this project.

I snuck into the King Edward's lobby (wearing a hard hat, of course). Let's just say that there is a lot to be done. And by a lot, I mean a LOT.

And 2010's? We'll see.
